A Snipit of my Schedule

Soooo...I've only had 2 classes and I am already way in over my head. Last quarter I thought that I had it bad but this is just ridiculous. I'm going to lay out a couple of classes for you....just a few of the things that I will be completing over the course of the next two and a half months

PE 441- High School Methods
5 Lesson Plans- 4 mini Teaches, 1 full Teach
3-4 online quizzes
Portfolio of LP's + daily activities (which require me to write up in mini LPs)
Unit Plan- curriculum map, 6 full LPs, cognitive/skills assessments
Dialogue Analysis- 2 mini lessons, 1 full lesson
Peer Blogs & Teach Reflections

KIN 422- Professional Teaching Class
Cover Letter/Resume-Rough Draft/Final Draft
3 Critical Thinking Papers
Professional Philosophy Paper- Rough Draft/Final Draft
Facilities Design- Rough Draft/Final Draft

Volleyball-A Class that I am Teaching
Unit Grid for 20 days of class
20 daily Lesson plans
Mid-Quarter Self Evaluation
Video Analysis/Conference
End of the quarter Self Evaluation
Course Lesson Plans (similar to unit grid)
Midterm Meeting
Student Evaluations
Final Meeting

And after all of that...I still have 2 classes left to attend and see what I have to do for those...so I will be updating again tomorrow. Especially since tomorrow is my first day of teaching and I am highly nervous for that! Ahhh. I just keep counting down the days.

I guess one good thing about today is that I woke up singing
"Goodbye World, I stay no longer with you, Goodbye pleasures of sin, I stay longer with you...I've made up my mind to go God's way for the rest of my lifee, I've made up my mind to go Gods way for the rest of my life."

Amen.

Day Before the First Day of School

I can't believe that tomorrow is the first day of my last Winter quarter ever at Western Washington University. It feels like just yesterday I was sitting in my dorm room, waiting nervously for the first day of my first Winter quarter...and I couldn't be any more excited that I am so much closer to my dreams than I was on that day. I never thought I would make it this far with how much I have had to deal with along the way and there is still so much more to do before I am even there.

My current status is: attemping to complete a 20 day lesson grid for my beginning volleyball class that I start teaching in 2 days and have NO IDEA where to even begin. And I can't deny the fact that I am absolutely, completely nervous for that day to come. It would be a little less intimidating if it were grade level students, but the fact that Iwill be teaching my own peers compeltely frightens me. Although I will probably know none of the students in my class, I have a lot of expectations to live up to because they are close to my age and want to take this class...but being unfamiliar with the topic doesn't help my stress level any less. Hopefully I can make it out of this quarter with as few tears as possible.

I have began the count down until I move out of Bellingham. Currently aprroximately 150 days and I am in a place where I can do the things that I want to do every single day. I will be surrounded by my best friends and close to my family. I will be working in my church and practicing my religion in the manor that I would like to do so. I cannot wait. Federal Way is calling my name. And boy oh boy I will be there before it can ask another time!

Being back in Bellingham should be interesting but 2011 is currently treating me well. Only a tad bit of drama but I have brushed everything else from 2010 off my shoulders and let it go. There is no reason to travel to the past and continue to bring those things up when this is a new year and a new beginning. Whatever life brings me this year I am ready and willing to take it on by storm. I know that the Lord is watching over me and will continue to grace me with His blesssings in all that I endure.

oh happy day

It is officially 2011. I cant believe this day has come. So much drama to put in the past and so many days to look forward to. Glad that i have God watching over me every minute of the day. In the last hours of the year the devil tried to get me but i found a way to shake him off. With the friendships i have grown to appreciate more and more, i ve been able to bring in this new year with a bang. If it werent for the lovely lady that is pictured above, i wouldnt have grown so much this last year. She is my rock and my foundation. I would be heartbroken and torn without B.Thomp in my life baby! Haha. And now it is time to begin a newnew. Brushing everything of the past off my shoulders and focusing on bettering myself for these next few years that i have in store fo myself. Many adventures to endure, starting with a detox of myself. I thank the Lord every day for the experiences that i get to take. I am so thankful. Communion tomorrow for the first time...a fresh start to 2011: amen. So many people have shown their true colors. Thank you for giving me the individuals who are about the real. Amen.

Venting.

My current state of mind: Optimism--"an inclination to put the most favorable construction upon actions and events or to anticipate the best possible outcome". It is the philosophical opposite of pessimism.

It is quite difficult to admit the mistakes that I have most recently made because I knew what was going to happen before it even happened. Sometimes I give people the benefit of the doubt becaue I always see the best in people, one of the main reasons I always end up hurt at the end of a relationship. After putting myself through a year and a half of a complete lie, I somehow continue to find myself gravitating towards the same scenario: a male who has a mouthpiece but no actions to back it up. I honestly shouldn't be as upset as I am right now but I can't help but be frustrated with the fact that I let myself do this over and over again.

I try to see everything as a lesson in life, something that God has planned for us in order to learn and better ourselves or the next chapters of our life...but I seem to repeat some situations more than once...even though I have already learned the lesson before. I guess after all of this it is safe to say that you can't give someone an ounce of trust until they earn it.

But I am optimistic. And I can't let everything get the best of me. I just can't wait for it to be over and done with. Whatever God continues to bring these situations in my life for, I can't wait until they are over. It's almost as if they are tests and I keep falling for them.

2011 is a new me. Time to brush off the old and ring in the new...bigger & better.

Day Two

This year has gone by far too fast. I can remember almost exactly what I was doing on this very day last year and I can say that with knowing what was going on then and how far I have come now, I am truly blessed. This past year has been far too good to me in the sense that it has taught me many lessons in a shorter period of time than they have ever taken before. Whether it be the lessons I have learned on relationships, friendships or just with my own personal choices, I am glad that I got them over with so that I can live the rest of my life knowing exactly what I want and who I want to be.

My biggest accomplishment this year would have to be that of which I found my relationship with God. Being baptized on September 11, 2010 was the biggest step towards finding myself. I found guidance and home in a church that has truly given me a reason to live and push forward each day that I have on this earth. New Beginnings is where I want to spend the rest of my life, working for God through the many ministires that are avilable and educating as many individuals on the spirit of the Lord that I am able and willing to speak to. I am so thankful for the true friends that I have realized are in my life and that I can call them my family, without them I would not be where I am today. I have been blessed with some of the most amazing women to help me get through all of my struggles. I thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for every breath that I am able to take and every step that I make towards my destiny in life.

As I sit and ponder about the adventures that I endured this past year, I can only imagine what I will go through in the upcoming year of 2011. I'm almost to my graduation, which I can hardly believe, but starting my life outside of education is something that I have longed for and hopefully means the start to a new relationship that I can have with myself and the people in my life. There is no telling what God has in store for me but I know that whatever it is, it is going to be great. God is good, all of the time and he knows my needs therefore I am going for my wants and dreams.
Only a few more days left in this year. Once that midnight mark hits on Jan 1, 2011, I am changing many aspects of my life. I know that I am young and we only live once so I take every opportunity that I am given but I need to clean up my act and focus on whats ahead of me.

Coming to an end..

As the days dwindle down to few in the year of 2010... I can truly say that it has been a rollercoaster. With the new year approaching, I have decided to begin my blogging adventure on a daily basis-- bible verse, song & picture of the day--will begin as soon as tomorrow. In that time, I will reflect on everything that has happened and my dreams for the future, just as soon as I get some rest.
